Perhaps following her rival John Edwards in appealing to America's downtrodden, Clinton dedicated much of her speech to the "invisible Americans" who she says have been ignored by the Bush administration.
"If you are a hard working single parent who can't afford health insurance or a small business owner who worries about energy costs or a student who can't afford to continue college, you are invisible to this Administration. You are invisible to the oil companies earning record profits while you pay more at the pump. You are invisible to the companies who outsource your job, or lay you off or end the promise of your pension. For six long years, President Bush and the Washington Republicans have looked right through you," Clinton stated.
"More than 46 million people living without health insurance. More than 90,000 people living in trailers after Hurricane Katrina. 13 million children living in poverty," she continued. "For six long years, they have all been invisible."
"Well, they're not invisible to us. They're not invisible to me. And when we retake the White House, they will no longer be invisible to the President of the United States," Clinton stated.
By "we" most Democrats in the room assumed Clinton meant her, and they responded with a standing ovation.
At one point Clinton compared her running for president as a woman with John Kennedy's having run for president as a Catholic. Kennedy was the featured speaker at the first New Hampshire Democratic "100 Club" dinner in 1959.
One Democrat activist who attended the event was swayed by Clinton's words. "I was excited," she told The Daily Acts on the condition of anonymity. "I used to be for Obama, but now ..." and she pointed to the "Hillary for President" pin on her chest.

Everyone is on the Obama bandwagon but I think that, when the dust settles, Hilliary with be the Democratic nominee for President. She is every bit as shrewd a politician as her husband.
